Granite Falls

Incorporated in 1899, Granite Falls is a quintessential Western North Carolina mill town grown into a destination by its proximity to both Lakes Hickory and Rhodhiss.

Located along the northern border of the Catawba River in Southern Caldwell County, Granite Falls began as a classic mill town springing up along a railroad spur next to a factory. As the years progressed, the Catawba River was dammed, and Granite Falls found itself on the northern border of both Lake Hickory and Lake Rhodhiss, prime real estate for some of the area's most desirable communities.
